BUDDHA TEA

CERAMIC / TEA CUP _ TEA POT / 2022

            An homage to 13 years spent in Shanghai and Hong Kong, BUDDHA TEA is the outcome of ARTHUR’s introduction to ceramic casting, mould making and ceramic hand building. The specific tea cup design used is taken from a personal artefact obtained during his stay, twisting an iconic and widely recognised symbol into a design with a deep personal link. The shaping of the hand built teapot was spontaneous and instinct based, an exercise in shape exploration through doing.
